Our History

Merit Models was established in 1996 as a prototyping and model shop. Within the first year of business, designing and building plastic injection molds became our main focus.

In the next several years, Merit began to design and produce custom products, becoming a full service tooling and production shop offering a wide range of machining, tool building and design capabilities.

In 1999, Merit Models launched our offshore branch and began building tooling and running production overseas, establishing ourselves in both the United States and Asia as a reputable, singular source for custom products from the design stage through to production.

In 2008, Merit Models was awarded the opportunity to design and manufacture the Galileoscope™, a joint United Nations (UNESCO) and Internation Astronomical Union (IAU) project for the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009). This product will reach millions of people throughout the world.
